Busy, busy, busy!

Life has been pretty busy here in the grade five classroom. The exhibition started last Monday and each day the students have been working hard to learn about their topic.

We are learning how to research and how to organize our materials. Currently the students are on phase three: Locate and Access. This means that they have found numerous books on their topics and are determining what sections or parts are relevant for their topic. They are creating a glossary and a bibliography as well.

The topics:

Endangered Ecosystems: Shane, Itai, and Sofie

Children`s Rights: Rintaro, Elsie-Maie, and Alexandru

Air Pollution: Jude and Jordan

Lack of Water: Divyanshu and Joel

Global Warming: Lars and Aliisa

Theme: How we share the planet

The exhibition is a valuable, learning process that will benefit the sudents for years to come. Not only will they learn about a new topic, but they will become more globally aware AND understand how to plan (and carry out) a major project.

Wow!

Parents, ask your child questions about their topic (in your native language or English!). Have them explain their key terms and discuss their plan for the coming week(s).

Suggestions, comments, and questions are always welcome!

Have a nice day
:)
